I am sure you are all excited about Christmas and you can’t wait till Christmas Eve. But what if on Christmas eve you were visited by Ghosts? And they show you images of Christmas in the past, present and future? Would you become a better person? And that is what the book Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and its theatre adaptation by the Bear Theatre Company is about. And now it is being played by the Prague Shakespeare Company. We talked about them last week and they are an English language ensemble operating from the theatre Kolowrat.

Ebeneezer Scrooge je lakomý, chladný, necitelný a mrzoutský starý muž žijící v Londýně. Nikdo ho nemá rád a jeho činy ubližují spoustu lidem, kteří jsou i o Vánocích o hladu. Ale jednoho večera je jeho život převrácen naruby třemi duchy. Ti mu ukážou Vánoce, které byly, jsou a budou a nakonec se stane tím nejlepším mužem, které to nejlepší staré město znalo.
