Adam´s Mish Mash

Good day and welcome to Adam’s Mish Mash, the hit show, which tries not to hit its listeners and especially its host, Adam Snellgrove, which is me. And no, I haven’t become a hermit as many of my family has expected. A certain streaming service might be in the Czech Republic, but I am resisting. I even managed to come to work today…though that’s because you can also stream it on your mobile device. Now you might say that this right here was advertisement, but it isn’t, because they killed my pigeon. Yep, they went and got Speckled Jim the monsters. O.K., now you might say it is slander, but it isn’t because I didn’t own a pigeon. Now you are probably confused. Good.

You definitely know, that Pluto isn’t the ninth Planet of the Solar System anymore. Also you probably know that a new contender is fighting for that spot. But how did this all happen? The most interesting part of the story is probably the fact, that the man responsible for Pluto’s expulsion from the Planet Club is also the one behind the attempted acceptance of a new planet into this exclusive club. Astronomer Mike Brown is the reason, why Pluto lost its planet status back in 2006. Now he comes with an exciting discovery, with which he could return a ninth planet into the system. For now its name is Planet Nine.

In the past there were a lot of theories about a potential planet on the edge of the solar system commonly connected to the apocalypse, which would occur after a collision with said planet. It was called many names as Planet Nibiru and Planet X. But this one poses no danger to us, because it is far far away. And that is why it was never seen before with telescopes and the evidence of its existence comes from gravitational deviations of nearby dwarf planets. This planet could be 20 times further away from us than Neptune and four times as big as Earth. It is also possible, that in its depths there could be water that could support life. But all these answers are in the stars.

And that is all, but check out www.rozhlas.cz/plus, but if you didn’t understand this episode, then you should call yourself a planet and get stripped of this status by Mike Brown.
