Jiří Přibáň je absolventem Právnické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy, kde roku 1997 habilitoval a v roce 2002 získal profesuru v oborech teorie, sociologie a filozofie práva.
Momentálně vyučuje sociologii práva, právní teorii a konstitucionalismus na britské Cardiff Law School, kde byl v roce 2006 jmenován profesorem práva. Mimo to působil na UC Berkeley, New York University of San Francisco, University of New South Wales v Sydney, European University Institute ve Florencii, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven nebo University of Pretoria. Kromě práva se zabývá také sociologií současného výtvarného umění a literatury.
Jiří Přibáň graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague, where he habilitated in 1997 and was appointed professor of legal theory, sociology and philosophy in 2002.
He currently teaches sociology of law, legal theory and constitutionalism at the British Cardiff Law School, where he was appointed professor of law in 2006. He has also worked at UC Berkeley, New York University of San Francisco, University of New South Wales in Sydney, European University Institute in Florence, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and University of Pretoria. In addition to law, he also deals with the sociology of contemporary art and literature.
