Jacques Rupnik

Jacques Rupnik je francouzský politolog a historik. Vystudoval historii a politologii na Sorboně v Paříži a na Harvardově univerzitě v USA. V letech 1974–1975 působil jak o výzkumný pracovník Ruského výzkumného centra na Harvardově Univerzitě a v letech 1977–1982 pracoval jako odborník na východní Evropu pro BBC World Service. Od roku 1982 působil jako profesor Institutu politických studií v Paříži.

V letech 1990–1992 pracoval jako poradce prezidenta Václava Havla. Později zastával funkci výkonného ředitele Mezinárodní komise pro Balkán při Carnergie Endowment for International Peace a byl členem Nezávislé mezinárodní komise pro Kosovo. V současnosti je profesorem na College of Europe v Bruggách (Belgie) a ředitelem výzkumu na Fondation des Sciences Politiques v Paříži. Je externím členem Institutu mezinárodních studií Fakulty sociálních věd Univerzity Karlovy v Praze.

Jacques Rupnik is a French political scientist and historian. He studied history and political science at Sorbonne University in Paris and Harvard University in the USA. In 1974–1975 he worked as a researcher for the Russian Research Centre at Harvard University. Later on he worked as an Eastern Europe analyst for the BBC World Service. In 1982 he became a Professor at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris.

In 1990–1992 he was an advisor to Czech President Václav Havel. He also worked as Executive Director of the International Commission for the Balkans, Carnergie Endowment for International Peace, and was a member of the Independent International Commission on Kosovo. At present he teaches at the College of Europe in Brugges and is the Director of Research at Fondation des Sciences Politiques in Paris. He is an external member of the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, Prague.
